How to read P-Metric tire code?

   Answer :
 
The code looks like P205/60R15 where
P - tire application. P=passenger vehicle, L=light truck
205 - tire width in MM
60 - aspect ratio, height to width ratio,
R - tire construction. R=radial, B=belted bias, D=diagonal or bias ply
15 - rim diameter in inch
There are new format lately and looks like P205/60R15 89H wher
89 - load index. Maximum load at maximum pressure
H - speed rating.
